I recently pitched my business to a panel of judges at the G&M Small Business Summit and because I WON, Tail Wags Helmet Covers was featured in the Globe and Mail Small Business section: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/small-business/sb-growth/after-a-near-fatal-skiing-accident-entrepreneur-finds-a-unique-way-to-encourage-helmet-use/article30232799/
The buzz generated on social media sites from this article has been remarkable so a big thank you to the judges who were persuaded by my enthusiasm for my work and vision for the future of Tail Wags! As a small business owner, I rely on the media to help me spread the word about our products and the traction from this article is priceless. It's not enough to have a great product these days because if people don't know your product exists, they won't be able to buy it!
Running a small business presents new and exciting challenges every day. Ten years ago, when I started Tail Wags in my basement, I was naive as to the demands of being an entrepreneur. It's good to stand back every once in a while though and take stock of the progress made and this G&M article leaves me feeling very proud of everything we've accomplished. I look forward to the next 10 years of Tail Wags as we continue to expand our product line and promote the helmet safety message!
