Living in the NOW!

Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today. (author: Benjamin Franklin) My dad spent the last several years of his life waiting for his retirement and he loved to talk about what he would do when he finally hit the magic age of 60 years old. His aim was to finish building the solar panels he designed, construct the 2-seater ultra light airplane he invented, find more time to paint (he was an artist), and become even fitter (he was already in good shape for a man in his late 50’s). My dad’s dreams sustained him. In fact,...

Passion is Contagious!

During a recent conference on e-commerce and entrepreneurs, I was asked what qualities I consider essential in entrepreneurs and the first thing that came to mind was “passion”. What’s important to me is my family is healthy and we are going to have several weeks to simply “hang out” and relax together. It’s amazing how liberating it is to realize that even if the mistletoe isn’t hanging above the door frame, the house looks like a disaster zone (my sons have brought back...

Life is Precious

You never know what’s going to happen one day to the next. Life is certainly unpredictable! Several weeks ago, I heard about a Toronto single mom of 3 young sons, Tracey Dort-Kyne, who was in a severe cycling accident that left her completely paralyzed from the neck down. One minute she’s training for the Centurion Road Race and the next minute she’s lying in a hospital bed completely dependent on others. I didn’t realize at the time I’ve met this woman several times. In fact, I’ve taken her fitness classes (she was a fitness instructor at the club I belonged...
