Don't Ride Naked to School

You are probably asking yourself, "What is she talking about?" and I can't blame you. Who would possibly ride naked to school? You'd be surprised. I see it all the time ... parents and kids riding their bikes, scooters, roller blades and skateboards without a safety helmet!

Two years ago, Tail Wags Helmet Covers launched its "Mothers Against Naked Riding" campaign and it's time to remind people of the importance of helmet safety. Back to school is a particularly busy time on the roads.

Making People Smile

What could be better than making people smile when you ride by? That’s what I do every time I cycle past wearing one of my helmet covers. Lately I’ve been sporting the Blue Fish and my boyfriend has been wearing Blaze and the comments we receive are always joyful: “Great helmet cover … where did you get it?” “Cool lid!” Sometimes it’s just a smile or thumbs up but it sure beats the road rage experienced by some cyclists and Toronto drivers. I Should Know Better

I will chalk this experience up to a temporary lapse in judgment on my part. For someone who preaches safety on a regular basis, I know better than to take unnecessary risks especially when participating in active sports. Here's the story: I was riding my bike with my boyfriend (Richard) 3 weekends ago ... not to worry, we were definitely wearing our sports helmets!
