Learning to Ride a 2 Wheeler Made Easy!

It was over 20 years ago but I still remember the frustration (and backache) as we tried to teach our 2 sons to ride a 2 wheeler. Both my kids successfully learned to ride a tricycle and a bike with training wheels BUT mastering a 2 wheeler without training wheels was a nightmare! The meltdowns (theirs and secretly mine) were enough to send me over the edge. The good news is eventually they did learn but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Don't Ride Naked to School

You are probably asking yourself, "What is she talking about?" and I can't blame you. Who would possibly ride naked to school? You'd be surprised. I see it all the time ... parents and kids riding their bikes, scooters, roller blades and skateboards without a safety helmet!

Two years ago, Tail Wags Helmet Covers launched its "Mothers Against Naked Riding" campaign and it's time to remind people of the importance of helmet safety. Back to school is a particularly busy time on the roads.

Toronto's Bike Month

The City of Toronto is promoting several events this week to highlight Bike Month 2013. They include guided bike tours, art shows, film screenings and the May 27th Bike to Work Group Commute! Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong is Chair of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee and wrote, "Cycling is a healthy activity that everyone in the family can enjoy, and it's becoming a real option to driving for many."
