I received notice today of yet another fee increase by Moneris; the company I have a contract with for online payment processing and the wireless terminal I use during marketplace events. The Royal Bank has also raised banking fees for all business and personal accounts. In fact, booth fees, fabric costs, electricity rates, and gas prices (just to name a few) have been skyrocketing for the past several years! Not a good day today!

Here’s a summary of today’s little surprises: The cost of mailing by Canada Post a single helmet cover to the US went up from $6.94 to $10.00. FedEx Trade Networks will now charge a $20.00 processing fee for all shipments to the US. Previously, there were no brokerage fees for shipments under $200.00. A 10 x 10’ booth at Signatures will cost $400.00 more than it did last year. Plus HST! In fact, all of the marketplace booth fees went up. Fabric costs increased as of January 2011.
