I'm Replaceable

Posted by 2 on

I am replaceable and that’s okay. It took me a while to admit it because like most small business owners, I felt my business would fall apart if I took some time off. But the reality of working 7 days a week and often 10 to 12 hour days has caught up with me so I’ve hired someone else to help me with the long hours. I am pleased to announce that Maria Wood, http://theblogerista.com, is going to relieve me every evening during the Toronto One of a Kind eleven-day show. Trying To Maintain a Sense of Humour Today

Posted by 2 on

I am trying to maintain my sense of humour today but it’s been a challenge: The puppy rolled in dog poop while on our walk and when I went to pick him up, I got covered in it. While trying to conduct a phone interview for a live taping on Global Talk Radio, the following occurred: i)               Dogs started barking at a squirrel in the backyard. ii)             Phone line cut out 3 times. One Track Mind

My friend, the Cookie Monster, inspired this post. This lovable Sesame Street character charmed us for many years with his unrelenting pursuit of his favourite food … COOKIES! Whether or not he had a good day was determined by if he successfully consumed large quantities of cookies. So what does this have to do with me? Yesterday was one of those lousy and unproductive days that left me feeling worn out and frustrated. I woke up and discovered that my Internet was down, my business phone line was dead and my printer wasn’t working. It took until mid-afternoon to get...

All Work & No Play Makes You Grumpy!

Posted by 2 on

Every small business owner can relate … Working 24/7 for extended periods of time leaves you feeling tired and stressed. That’s how I felt on the morning of Friday, May 6th. I was sitting in front of my computer screen, overwhelmed by my to-do list. For those of you who know me well, this is not like me! I love my work and I’m typically a high-energy person. What was wrong with me? Why couldn’t I just buckle down and get to work? All of a sudden, I realized how burnt out I felt. I haven’t had a holiday since...
